EccoX, a revolutionary new insert is made from food grade cup stock paperboard and is coated with a food grade oil and moisture barrier. In house designed and built expanding machinery is used to manufacture these trays in a company North of Atlanta. The expanding process adds additional loft to the paperboard, helping elevate the pie away from its oil and grease. These elevations also allow for air circulation, reducing the effect of trapped steam within the carton.

Only the latest technology is used to make this eco- friendly pizza tray. EccoX raises your pizza out of the oils and juices that can accumulate in the pizza box, helping to maintain a warmer and crispier crust.

Here are the three questions that were asked while developing this product:

How is the issue of soggy crusts in a take- out pizza box solved?

The pizza is elevated off of the bottom of the carton separating the crust from the base allowing air to flow underneath. This also keeps the pizza hotter, longer and reduces the effect of trapped steam within the carton.

How is an eco-friendly product, that still holds its form under weight and moisture, created?

Expanded cup stock paperboard. The expanding process adds additional loft to the paper, helping to elevate the piecrust from the oil and grease.

How can this product be differentiated from the competition?

In an ever more crowded marketplace, quality differentiation is becoming more and more important to stay ahead of the competition. This patent pending expansion process allows you to elevate the pizza away from the carton, unlike some of the competitors, whose trays allow the pizza to remain in contact with the entire tray surface.

This revolutionary new to market product has three main intended marketing targets. There were three main components that were considered before launching this product. Firstly, a fast-growing progressive pizza chain who wants to differentiate their quality in an increasingly competitive market. As is well known, there is a strong trend in our industry to get away from major chains and move towards higher quality and innovation.


Quite often the delivery condition is overlooked in the search for elevated quality.
