Famed Pizzeria Bonci Opens in New Orleans
Bonci opens its doors in New Orleans July 25, offering guests a variety of Roman al taglio style pizza.
At Bonci NOLA, guests will experience a one-of-a-kind artisanal pizza cut by the slice with scissors (al taglio-style), along with other seasonal menu selections, in a convenient counter-service setting. The unique style of pizza is custom cut into rectangular shapes with the slice size determined by the guest and priced by the weight.
Chef Gabriele Bonci pays homage to the spirit of the city with his take on the classic Muffuletta and guests will also be delighted to find signature pizza selections such as:
Zucchini Ricotta Lemon Black Pepper
The restaurant is located at 726 Julia t in New Orleans. Chef Bonci, known as the “Michelangelo of Pizza,” opened Pizzarium Bonci in Rome in 2003 and now guests will be able to enjoy this Anthony Bourdain-approved pizza. Pizza selections rotate daily with unique and flavorful offerings based on the season. In addition to pizza, guests can expect to find Rome’s staple street food, Suppli. Similar to American arancini, suppli takes three staple fillings including ragu, spaghetti and risotto, rolls them into packed bundles, and fries them for a crispy bite. Bonci will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and will close at 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 p.m. on Sunday.
