Hot Rocks Oven Cooks World’s Longest Calzone
It takes muscle to cook a 59 foot long Guinness World Record breaking Calzone. That is what the revolutionary Hot Rocks stone conveyor oven proved at the Vaughan Pizza Festival this Sunday.
“We were confident in the oven’s capabilities. The heat from the granite stone surface made cooking so much faster. The crust came out perfect. I am proud of what the oven has accomplished,” says Fabrizio Iocco, Hot Rocks Corporate Chef.
The dough was laid out and continuously fed into the conveyor. This was a determining success factor for the Guinness World Record.
“We are so happy to be associated with such an achievement. When the promoters of the Vaughan Pizza Festival contacted us to participate in their event, we immediately accepted. We had not doubt that the oven would be a perfect fit for this accomplishment,” says Vincent Tourigny, CFO.
The record was beat under the guidance of The Pizza Dude Roberto Vergalito. It took 20 helpers, 36 liters of tomato sauce, 20 kg of pepperoni, 60 kg of cheese, and 4 hours of prepping and cooking to cook over 59 feet of calzone.
