Nature Walnut Crumbles Help Restaurants Add Plant-Based Dishes to Menus

July 24, 2019 Industry News

Mount Franklin Foods, through its Azar Foodservice brand, announced the launch of It’s Nature Walnut Crumbles—a culinary plant-based protein that offers foodservice professionals a unique and easy way to incorporate plant-based dishes across their menus.

Created in response to the growing demand for plant-based menu options, Walnut Crumbles bring major appeal to today’s health- and flavor-conscious consumers. An alternative to soy, this superfood product uses walnuts as the base, offering consumers nutritional benefits in addition to an appealing texture and flavor.

“We’re very excited to introduce It’s Nature Walnut Crumbles to foodservice operators that are looking to elevate their plant-based offerings,” says Enrique Grajeda, president and CEO of Mount Franklin Foods. “This innovative product is one of many ways we’re helping chefs and operators meet and exceed their customers’ expectations for menu options that are nutritious, flavorful, and feature familiar ingredients.”

Available in two pre-seasoned flavors, Chorizo and Italian, Walnut Crumbles bring an easy, recipe-ready menu component to today’s busy foodservice operations. Chefs simply mix the Walnut Crumbles with chickpeas, vegetable oil and vinegar, then heat to make a plant-based protein that can be used in a variety of dishes.

The product is versatile enough to use across dayparts and menu applications—from tacos to protein bowls, omelets, pastas salads and more.

Walnut Crumbles made their debut this past May at the 2019 National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago.
