Local grocer Quality Food Centers and Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria, the Northwest's first certified authentic Neapolitan pizzeria, announced a partnership today to open an in-store restaurant managed and operated by Tutta Bella.

Tutta Bella will open this summer inside the 50,000 square-foot QFC at the Kirkland Urban development, a 12-acre mixed-use project.

“We are so excited about our partnership with Tutta Bella,” says Suzy Monford, president of QFC. “Kirkland Urban QFC will be the premier food store of the Pacific Northwest! The Q has been on a mission since 1956 to champion the best local quality and to curate a special foodie experience. Tutta Bella fits that model perfectly. Their pizza is amazing and their mission of nourishing lives by sharing traditions, authentic food and love aligns with our purpose of Feeding the Human Spirit.”

Guests to the Tutta Bella inside Kirkland Urban’s QFC will enjoy the same finest imported and locally sourced ingredients that Tutta Bella serves at its five neighborhood restaurants and mobile food truck.  In addition to Neapolitan wood-fired pizza and a cannoli bar serving fresh Sicilian cannoli to order, the restaurant will offer items such as meatball and porchetta sandwiches, meat and vegetarian lasagna, a variety of salads and their award-winning tiramisu.

“QFC is a fantastic partner for us,” says Joe Fugere, owner of Tutta Bella. “From the very start, Suzy and her team have insisted that we recreate the full Tutta Bella experience inside their store.  This includes lots of their help in figuring how to install an Italian wood-burning pizza oven inside a grocery store – no small feat! And they are in 100% alignment with our focus on honoring the tradition of Neapolitan cuisine and culture: fresh, wholesome food prepared with love and a passion for excellence.”

The Tutta Bella space has been designed by the Seattle-based firm Graham Baba Architects, the team behind projects such as Chophouse Row, Melrose Market, and the Deep Dive Bar inside Amazon’s Spheres. The space will feature a wood-burning oven hand-made in Italy, in addition to emphasizing the beauty of natural materials such as walnut and blackened steel. It will offer counter seating in addition to take out, grab-and-go prepared items, and on-line ordering.

“Since 1956, we have been a local community grocer and everything we do is about paying homage to that history of Pacific Northwest culinary expertise,” says Monford.  “The new Kirkland Urban store will be a premiere food store and this partnership with Tutta Bella will greatly enhance our customers’ experience.”
